A variety of disciplines and professions are involved in the development and implementation of prevention. The PraeWi-team primarily represents social work and psychology. However, our work also incorporates expertise from other fields of science, such as e.g. health science and cultural studies. We appreciate the interdisciplinary nature of our project and prevention in general and are pleased about cooperation and exchange across different disciplines – in Germany and internationally.
At PraeWi we do not only deal with the prevalence of hazardous substance use within the diverse target group, but also with the needs, resources and perspectives of all relevant stake holders in the setting. In addition, topics such as capacity building, resilience, self-efficacy, social support and participation are also relevant for us.
At PraeWi, we use both qualitative and quantitative research methods, continuously pursuing approaches of participatory research and acting according to the characteristics of the setting. An interdisciplinary, international and strength-oriented perspective is always of great importance to us. For this reason, we would be delighted to have an exchange with you on our project topic, on related topics or receiving an active contribution to our research or our prevention concept!
